Kuumba Arts and Community Resource Centre, based in St. Paul's, is Bristol and the South West region's leading and longest established Afrikan Caribbean arts and cultural centre.

Our Mission

Kuumba's mission is to lead and facilitate the development and diversity of Afrikan and Caribbean arts, culture and community resources for the benefit of all.

About us

  • It is a place where an extensive Arts and Cultural Educational programme forms the centrepiece of our arts initiatives;
  • Support the development of contemporary Afrikan and Caribbean artistic practice;
  • Involve people from every section of the community in high quality cultural activities that educate, challenge, inform and entertain them;
  • Develop and support childcare services that are culturally-sensitive and community-based resources for the benefit and use off the local community.

What we do

Kuumba offers programmes, training and education initiatives that are supportive of traditional and contemporary Afrikan and Caribbean arts practice.
